Meet Pastor Fred and Roma Rojas

Fred and Roma were both saved and baptized before they met.  They got married in 1981.  Fred served in the US Air Force for 24 years and retired in Dec 2002.  He continued his service in the military as a civilian employee for 14 years and retired in June 2019.  Roma also served in the military as a civilian employee for 23 years and retired in March 2020.

Fred and Roma have faithfully served the Lord in different ministries as Junior Church and Sunday School teachers to children and adults, choir members and were active soul winners in all the churches they have been members of.  Roma worked in all nurseries.  Fred served as an usher and Deacon in their previous four churches and also was a Pulpit Committee Member.

While serving as full-time government employees from 2013-2018 at Kadena Air Base Okinawa, Japan, they were also both serving the Lord in different ministries at Maranatha Baptist Church (MBC) ministering to military personnel and their families.  While there, Fred completed a 3-year Bible College Degree through Faith Bible Institute in December 2016.

It wasn’t long until Fred heard God’s call to full-time ministry during a church revival and to preach the Gospel during a Missions Conference.  Both Fred and Roma publicly surrendered to full-time ministry in Dec 2016.  During BIMI’s Far East Military Field Conference/MBC’s 50th Anniversary, God made it clear that Fred's specific call was to be a Missionary for US Military personnel.  Fred was subsequently ordained to the Gospel in September 2018.  Upon their relocation back to the U.S., they partnered with BIMI and started their deputation.  They both left their jobs and retired early to get to the mission field the earliest possible.  God led them to Sasebo, Japan and accepted the call to pastor Sasebo Baptist Church in February 2022.

Pastor Fred and Mrs Roma arrived to Sasebo in April 2022.   They have been faithfully ministering to the people of US Naval Base, Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo and the local community.  Many souls have been saved and lives impacted through the church ministry.  The Rojas' will continue to preach Christ, reach the lost, love and pray for the members, minister to others, and help them grow in faith and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
